This email is to inform you that the March Provider Webinar has been canceled due to our upcoming VFC Provider Conference. The next webinar will be held on April 7, 2025. In absence of the March webinar, we have an important update to share regarding measles reporting, testing, and vaccination.
Given the recent increase in measles activity both in the United States and globally, particularly with outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico. In light of this, we have attached an important memo from Dr. Zack Moore, State Epidemiologist and Dr. Carrie Blanchard Director, Immunization Branch. The memo outlines key recommendations for North Carolina clinicians on measles reporting, testing, and vaccination.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that measles continues to pose a significant threat globally, particularly among unvaccinated populations. Early identification, reporting, and vaccination of susceptible contacts are crucial to limiting the spread of this disease.
Review the attached memo for detailed guidance on how to promptly identify, report, and control the spread of measles.
